Little League baseball postseason to begin next week
NORWAY — Marion Park in Norway will be the site of upcoming District 10 Little League baseball pre-district and district games, in both Minors (9-10 year olds) and pre-districts for Majors (11-12 year olds).
For the Majors pre-district games, play begins Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Iron Mountain will take on Kingsford in game one. The game one winner will advance to Wednesday at 5:30 and take on Norway in game two.
Thursday at 7 p.m. the loser of game one will face the loser of game two.
Majors district play will all take place at Karl Dickson Memorial Field in Escanaba, beginning on Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern.
For the Minors, pre-districts begin on Thursday at 5 p.m. with Kingsford taking on Norway in game one. The game one winner will take on Iron Mountain on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in game two.
July 10 at 1 p.m. will be the loser of game one versus the loser of game two.
District play for Minors will begin Monday, July 12, with games at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The games will be between Escanaba area and Dickinson County area teams, and all held at Marion Park.
For the third time since 2000, Marion Park will this year host a Little League state tournament, which will be a 9-10 year old tournament beginning on the evening of July 22 with opening ceremonies. Games will begin the morning of July 23 with the state championship game scheduled for July 28.
