Broncos runs past Wykons 48-0 in gridiron clash
HARRIS — Bark River-Harris rushed for 424 yards and seven touchdowns and built a huge halftime lead in defeating West Iron County 48-0 on Sept. 1.
The Broncos (2-0) grabbed a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and extended that to 40-0 at the break. They added their final score in the third quarter.
“It was a tough game versus a very good Bark River team,” WIC coach Mike Berutti said, adding his team lacks experienced upperclassmen. “But the freshmen and sophomores that played did a very nice job.
“It was a great learning experience for the youth of our team.”
The Wykons, who fell to 0-2, will travel to Manistique (1-1) on Friday.
