UP Trappers banquet March 7 in Norway

Trappers and other outdoors enthusiasts enjoy the Furbearers Unlimited Banquet at the 2018 National Trappers Association Convention in Escanaba. The U.P. Trappers of District 3 will host a similar event March 7 in Norway.

NORWAY — The U.P. Trappers of District 3 will host a fundraising banquet March 7 at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Norway.

Doors open at 4 p.m., with a buffet dinner served at 6 p.m. The event will be limited to 200 participants. Tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for ages 17 and younger.

Door prizes, including firearms and lots of outdoor equipment, will be awarded, along with mini-raffles and other giveaways.

Attendees of the first banquet will be on an invitation list for the next banquet and have first preference for future events.

“Our mission is to preserve and protect the renewable resources and pass on the trapping heritage,” said Roy Dahlgren, president of U.P. Trappers District 3. “Educating the public (particularly the youngsters) is our major goal. Our educational endeavors include the annual Trapper Workshop, booths at three fairs, subscriptions to Fur-Fish-Game magazine donated to 26 U.P. schools, along with as many positive public relations we can create. All of these endeavors are done on a strictly voluntary basis.”

For tickets, contact John Gunville at 906-221-6935.

“Your participation in this banquet will help to ensure that all the efforts of U.P. Trappers of District 3 will continue,” Dahlgren said. “Come on in, have a good time, win a nice prize, enjoy good food and drinks along with camaraderie and you will be supporting a good outdoor activity and heritage.”
