Traffic issue at Jackson and US 2

I am writing as a concerned citizen regarding the Neu-Cup driveways. This area has always been very congested because a lot of people turn onto Jackson Street and continue on to Breitung Cutoff to go to Kingsford. There are many businesses down Jackson Street, and a lot of semi-truck traffic. If you are trying to turn left onto U.S. 2 from Jackson Street, you better be ready for a wait. The delays are longer now that Neu-Cup is there.

There is traffic exiting their driveway, both left and right, along with people using the left turn lane here. It is treacherous trying to get out. Just when you think it is clear, a car turns left out of their driveway. It is ridiculous. Something needs to be done –either no left turns out of their driveways, a traffic light installed or something. At some point, an accident is going to occur here.

While on the subject of Jackson Street, if the city of Iron Mountain wants to make some easy money, they should position a police car, out of sight, at the intersection of Jackson and U.S. 2. There are no speed limit signs on this road, and people drive like idiots on here. FYI to all of you speeding down this street, if you are in a commercial or residential area with no posted speed limit, the speed limit is 25 mph. Look it up, and slow down.
