FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center.

Field trips for the remainder of the year will be the topic of discussion. A field trip is planned for Saturday. The group will meet at 5 ­p.m. in the Crystal Falls Township Hall parking lot and travel to a local gravel pit. Bring an UV flashlight to search for fluorescing sodalite/syenite rocks after sunset.

Those attending can bring snacks and drinks to the meeting, along with any rock or mineral specimens to share, show or ask questions about.

Social distancing is encouraged during the meeting and have a face mask available.
