KINGSFORD — The Touchett family has created a scholarship in memory of Staff Sergeant Timothy Touchett. The Tim Touchett Legacy Scholarships will be awarded to two Class of 2018 graduating seniors.

This scholarship, valued at $1,500, is being offered in memory of Staff Sergeant Timothy Touchett, a 2002 graduate of Florence High School and honored member of the Wisconsin National Guard. Throughout his life, Touchett embodied what it means to be a servant-leader. His belief is that through giving ourselves to the service of others, we can truly embark on a leadership role to motivate and inspire.

As a member of the National Guard, Touchett served his country as a medic during a deployment to Iraq, as a member of Wisconsin’s Counter-Drug Program, a Wounded-Warrior Transition Liaison Officer, Suicide-Prevention Case Manager, in addition to numerous mentorship and teaching roles and finally as the Training Non-Commissioned Officer for the 135th Battalion in Waukesha, Wis., until his death in 2014.

Touchett left his mark on this world and touched countless lives through his selfless service and his dedication and commitment to his country, fellow service members, many friends and his beloved family. His legacy will forever resonate in the memory of those who knew him and his mission will be continued through the lives of those who he touched.

It is our deepest hope that his legacy will continue on through young people who share his mindset and deep commitment to the service of others, says his family.
