Cold to worsen for end of week

IRON MOUNTAIN — Frigid temperatures in the southern Upper Peninsula and northeast Wisconsin are expected to continue through Saturday, with the coldest readings Friday and overnight.

High temperatures will be in the low single digits during the day Friday and drop to the teens below zero overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

The rest of the week will be similar with single-digit highs and subzero lows, at times made colder by wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero, NWS predicts.

But warmer weather is on the horizon, NWS says, with Sunday’s highs expected to reach the mid-20s.
