Pembine group makes plans for three special events

PEMBINE, Wis. — The Pembine Area Senior Citizens meets at noon on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month for lunch, with a short meeting and card games to follow.

The group has also special events planning including a summer picnic in July, Thanksgiving dinner in November and Christmas party in December.

Anyone 50 years or older can join.

The group recently hosted their annual Spring Fing at Richard’s in Dunbar, Wis. with 24 members and three guests presents.

Baskets drawings were held, winners include: Joan Erickson, picnic basket was won by Snooky Schlias, dinnerware basket and party basket were won by Alice Mans; kitchen basket was won by Alice Kirstoff; and mystery basket was won by Cheryl Kosour.

Sandy Brown and Kay Kieker were acknowledged for making 11 plastic canvas apple pies for table decorations and door prizes. The winners of the pies were Tony Dragosh, Snooky Schliad, Joan Erickson, Shirley Schultz, Marlene Johnson, Kay Kieker, Alice Kristoff, Darlene McGuire and Glenna Mulder, and two guests.

Many area businesses donated gift certificates, movie tickets, and blankets for door prizes.

The group acknowledges them for their donations.

The winners of these prizers were Janice Reed and Nada Surface, The Pembine Food Depot certificates; Aggie Cavaiani and Sandy Brown, blankets from BP Food Station main office; Darlene McGuire, Walmart certificate; Doug Yoakum, guest, Tadych’s Econo Foods certificate; Gene Tessman, Super One Foods certificate; Charlotte Boechler and Beverly Dragosh, Thomas Theatre Group tickets; Cheryl Kosour and Marilyn Tessman, Pizza Hut certificate; and Nelda Nowacki, Greenway Books certificate.

“What more could we ask for, good food, loads of prizes, fun and laughter and the companionship of good friends and neighbors,” said Nada Surface.
