Enchanted Doll Club To Study Patsy Dolls

Sally Young of Arbor Vitae presented a program about the toys and dolls that survived the sinking of the Titanic to the doll club. Young displays a reproduction those toys, a teddy bear named Polar. The club this month will learn about Patsy Dolls.

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — The next meeting of the Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23 in the Eagle Room of the Walter E. Olson Library in Eagle River.

Jill Helmke of Wausau, Wis. will be the speaker. Helmke will present a program on the Patsy Doll Family. Production of the Patsy Doll Family began in the late 1920s and continues today. The doll has been made in many sizes and of many materials. Helmke’s program will cover these changes and she will show dolls from her collection. All attendees are welcomed to bring a Patsy doll to share.

After the program, refreshments will be served. Then an open forum on any doll related topic will begin. Guests are welcomed to participate.
