Kingsford students honor Honor Flight veterans

Kingsford High School and Middle School students recently wrote special notes and letters to veterans participating the U.P. Honor Flight on Wednesday, expressing the students’ appreciation and respect for the veterans who served the country. The letters will be presented to the veterans on the return flight from their Tour of Honor in Washington D.C. Eighty veterans from throughout the U.P., including 10 from the local area, will take part in the U.P. Honor Flight Mission XVI. The U.P. Honor Flight “Welcome Home” event is schedule for 7 p.m. Central time at Delta County Airport in Escanaba. KMS teacher Tamara Nash assisted Honor Flight representative Scott Lewellyn with the project.
