Spread Eagle Art Show on Sunday

POTTERY CREATED BY Leslie Luft of Crystal Falls will be featured at the Spread Eagle Art Show on Sunday.

SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. — Leslie Luft from Crystal Falls will display her pottery at the Spread Eagle Art Show on Sunday at the Chuckwagon in Spread Eagle, Wis.

Luft creates unique but simple functional pieces that will fit beautifully in anyone’s kitchen or home. She works mostly with stoneware clay finished with food-safe glazes but also uses terracotta clay for some items. Her pieces include mugs, bowls, serving dishes, and more.

Luft is the director of the Contemporary Center in Crystal Falls where she teaches classes.

Meet Luft and enjoy her unique pottery items at the show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, Sunday at the Chuckwagon, 7 miles west of Iron Mountain on U.S. 2. Meet the artists and artisans and enjoy a juried showcase of original arts and fine crafts.

New artists and old favorites will exhibit a variety of art forms, including acrylic, watercolor, tole, mixed media and whimsical paintings. Artworks include metal; wood carvings; wire-wrapped gemstone jewelry; hand-woven rugs, placemats, and purses; raku pottery; wire sculptures; and miniature birch bark canoes.

On display as well will be unique moose antler art, pottery, Lake Superior Beach Glass Jewelry, embellished flatware, rustic stone art, wood birdhouses, photography, macramé, jewelry featuring gemstones and metal, aerial photos of area lakes and hand-crafted wooden toys.

The show also features rustic stone art; growth charts for kids; rocks, fossils and minerals; driftwood art; agate jewelry; furniture made from recycled wood; dips, salsa, and dipping sauces; maple syrup; honey; unique wood items; jeweled hair chains, plus much more.

Those visiting the show can enjoy burgers, hot dogs, and corn-on-the-cob cooked on the outdoor grill or eat inside the cool comfortable Chuckwagon. Ice cream treats and cold beverages will be served as well.
