Winery concert set

BARK RIVER — U.P. Gumbo of Marquette will perform zydeco and New Orleans-style music at the final concert of the Sunday concert series at Northern Sun Winery in Bark River.

The nonprofit organization co-hosting the concert and benefitting from proceeds is the Delta County Nonmotorized Trails.

Concerts begin at 4 p.m. Eastern time and proceed rain or shine. Early arrivals can spread blankets or set up their lawn chairs to enjoy the winery’s specialty wines from the tasting room or under the pergola overlooking the vineyard’s rolling hills.

A free vineyard and wine cellar tour begins at 3 p.m. before each afternoon concert. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic lunch — no alcoholic beverage carry-ins permitted.

Tickets are $10 in advance, available at Northern Sun and the Delta County Chamber of Commerce in Escanaba and from representatives of the co-hosting organizations. Tickets are $15 when purchased at vineyard on the day of concert.

For more information, contact Northern Sun at 906-399-9212, go to www.northernsunwinery.com or check Facebook postings for Northern Sun Winery.

Northern Sun is south of Bark River and U.S. 2 at 983 10th Road. Watch for directional signage from U.S. 2 and on southbound D Road, South Bark River Road.
