IRON MOUNTAIN — The fourth-annual U.P. Parkinson Disease Symposium will be Friday, Sept. 27, at Bay College West in Iron Mountain.

Hosted by the Parkinson Society of Dickinson County Area in conjunction with the Michigan Parkinson Foundation, this symposium is open to all Parkinson’s disease patients, along with family, caregivers and others interested in learning more in the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.

Registration and check-in opens at 8 a.m. and the program begins at 8:45 a.m. Coffee and water will be available all day and a free lunch will be provided at noon.

Those planning to attend are asked to pre-register early so enough seating and lunches will be available.

Keynote speaker is Sheryl Jedlinski, an author, blogger, humorist and a Parkinson’s patient. She is a frequent speaker at symposiums throughout the country. Her books will be for sale at the symposium.

Other speakers include attorney Paul Sturgul, optometrist Dr. Tyler Chartier, and two neurologists, Dr. Aaron Ellenbogren and Dr. Roman Politi.

Jake Miller and Cindi Weber will moderate an open question and answer forum with the speakers as the panelists.

Vendors will have tables in the commons area with information about Parkinson’s.
