The famous Napoleon Bonaparte was quoted the following concerning Jesus: “I know men, and I tell you that Jesus is not just a man. . .You speak of Caesar, of Alexander…and the enthusiasm they enkindled in the hearts of their soldiers; but can you conceive of a dead man making conquests with an army faithfully and entirely devoted to his memory?”

Napoleon’s point is that Jesus isn’t just another man. He continues to transform the minds and hearts of millions!

We think of the sacrifices of countless missionaries who gave up everything to bring Jesus to others in distant lands. This is not just a thing of the past. We read about the sacrifices people are making in China to bring the Gospel to others, even at the risk of their lives.

We ask ourselves if Jesus has much of an influence on how we live our everyday lives.

Do we share his live-giving values with others? Does he still have an influence?
