AAUW plans virtual meeting

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch of American Association of University Women will have its monthly meeting via Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Members of the community are welcome as well.

AAUW branch members and members from the community who RSVP will first hear from Dickinson County Clerk Dolly Cook about the November election from 6 to 6:45 p.m. This will be followed by announcements from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. and then a book discussion of “The Woman’s Hour” by Elaine Weiss from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

AAUW is a nationally recognized nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that strives to promote equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy. The Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch of AAUW supports this mission by providing scholarships for area women to attend a two- or four-year college or university of their choice.

They also advance equity for women and girls through mission-based programs, Speech Trek competition, annual book sale, candidates’ forum and Start Smart workshop.
