IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Office of Veteran Affairs will host the Gold Star Memorial dedication event at noon Saturday at the Dickinson County Courthouse in Iron Mountain.

The Laborers’ International Union of North America, or LIUNA, Local 1329 has provided the funds to buy Gold Star pins that will be passed out to commemorate the event.

After the unveiling of the new Gold Star Family Memorial, a Veterans Appreciation Picnic will take place on the courthouse grounds until 2 p.m.

A special recognition will be conducted with a short ceremony and distribution of the 50th commemoration Vietnam pin to all Vietnam veterans and a special pin for the surviving spouses of Vietnam veterans.

Those attending are asked to bring their own mask.
