Verville completes ride

Deacon Terry Verville

IRON RIVER — Deacon Terry Verville recently completed riding his bike for 75 miles to raise money for the Catholic Campus Ministry at Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

He took nine days to complete the trek, with his wife Renee riding her bike with him; the ride was mostly completed in the evenings.

Because of very generous donors, he was able to raise $680 to help the Rev. Dustin Larson and the Campus Ministry Students reach their goal of $10,000.

Verville hopes to make this an annual event and to have other riders joining him in this fundraiser in the future.

Verville is a member of the Iron River Knights of Columbus Council 2300, as financial secretary, and Assembly 501, as sentinel and honor guard.

He is deacon for the Iron River St. Agnes, Caspian St. Cecilia, and Watersmeet Immaculate Conception Parishes, serving the Rev. Gregory Veneklase.
