Mansfield Township sponsors trick or treats

MANSFIELD — A community party, sadly, is not possible this year in Mansfield to celebrate Halloween with the usual costume parade, games, pinata and pumpkin contest.

However, the Wicked Witch of the West has agreed to fly in on her broomstick to greet the kids and hand out goodie bags, all while maintaining COVID-19 safety guidelines. All Mansfield residents, family and friends are invited to stop by.

The Witch, along with her ghoulish assistant, will be on the entry steps of the Mansfield Township Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

All treat bags will be individually wrapped and handed out with gloved hands.

She and her helper also will have protective facemasks in place under their Halloween masks. Adults accompanying children are asked to also wear their protective face coverings.
