MARSP awards mini-grants to two teachers and a librarian

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County chapter of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel recently awarded three mini-grants of $125 each to local educators for the purchase of classroom materials.

Recipients were: Katie Dahlman, Norway-Vulcan Area Schools; Cassandra Gustafson, Norway-Vulcan Area Schools; and Patti Milinski, Kingsford Middle School, Breitung Township Schools.

Dahlman, kindergarten to 12th grade art teacher at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools, will use the mini-grant to purchase digital art styluses for student use. Gustafson, a mathematics, English language arts and physical education teacher at Vulcan Middle School and Norway High School, will use the mini-grant to purchase a document camera with recording capabilities. Milinski, librarian at Kingsford Middle School, will use the mini-grant to acquire new reading materials for the library.

MARSP, which is an organization comprised of retired school personnel, is proud to provide these grants to area educators to help them purchase materials that, due to budgetary restraints, might not otherwise be available to their students.
