Bay College to host ‘Veterans Speak’ virtual event Nov. 27

ESCANABA — Students of the Bay College Civics Corps will host their second-annual Veterans Speak event from 7 to 9 p.m. Eastern time Monday, Nov. 27.

Bay College Civics Corps continues its partnership with the Great Lakes Peace Center and Waging Dialogue in this work. This year there is an additional partnership with the American Legion of the Upper Peninsula and American Merchant Marine veterans.

Veterans Speak will be virtual and will include notables from the U.S. Merchant Marine and branches of the U.S. military. Veterans of different ages and backgrounds will share their experiences and discuss what serving the country has meant.

Email June Klees at kleesj@baycollege.edu for the Zoom link.

Dave Yoho will provide the keynote address. Yoho served as a Merchant Marine engine room crewman in World War II. After the war, he went on to become a motivational speaker and businessman. He has appeared on “The Tonight Show” and has been invited to the White House on multiple occasions.
