— The Alans’ Magic Show: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.
Jason and Stacy Alan deliver loads of fun and lots of laughter for patrons of all ages. Their high-energy show is filled with spectacular magic, funny props and lots of audience participation. No registration is required. This project is funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council. — Glow in the Dark Painting: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain; 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, at the North Dickinson Branch; and 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Solomonson Branch in Norway.
Patrons in kindergarten through adults will make bold, radiant creations surrounded by UV light. Participants will also be able to use the new silent sound system. The silent sound system was sponsored through a grant from the IMK Youth Advisory Committee and the Dickinson Area Community Foundation. No registration is required. Sponsored by Rize.

Explore the wonders of early literacy through books, songs, and activities at this program for kids to age 5 and their caregivers. Wear yellow and go on adventure with books “Ducks on the Road: A Counting Adventure” by Anita Lobel and “Wherever You Go” by Pat Zietlow Miller. No registration is required. Celebrating the Year of the Dragon, Chef Ming Louie will teach budding chefs from third grade through adult how to make this tasty treat, which will then be eaten.
