GFWC plans luncheon on Friday at Pine Grove
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingston General Federation of Women’s Clubs will meet at noon Friday at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. Members are asked to check in by 11:45 a.m.
The November program will honor area women veterans as guests of honor for their service in the military. Club member Mary Stolze will present a review of her experiences in Vietnam as an Army nurse as the main speaker for the meeting.
Members are reminded of the last collection opportunity for the club’s Clothing for Warmth community service project.
The hat and mitten drive for the local needy elementary school age children has been a priority project for the women’s club for many years. All members are encouraged to support the important project.
Reservations for the luncheon and program can be made by calling or texting social chairman Joyel Brule at 906-282-0650.
The luncheon menu will be a traditional turkey dinner or the alternative chef’s salad.
Members are encouraged to invite someone who might be interested in joining the women’s club to attend as a possible prospective new member.
