Selections purchased by the Agnes Jayne Memorial Library Fund for the Dickinson County Library in tribute to Mother’s Day.
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain has announced the 2025 selections for the Agnes Jayne Memorial Library Fund.
The memorial fund selections will be on display Friday through May 23 at the Dickinson County Library as a tribute to Mother’s Day.
Established in November 1993, the Memorial Library Fund, now in its 32nd year, provides readers with the latest in romantic fiction.
Annual contributions to the endowment have been made by her daughter, Mary (Jayne) Erickson Parrott, in honor of her children, Terri (Erickson) Court, Gary and Gregg Erickson and her five grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua Court and Colin, Connor and Caleb Erickson. The fund has grown substantially since its commencement.
Agnes Jayne was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Iron Mountain. This year would have been her 112th birthday. She was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1930.
She married Kenneth W. Jayne on Jan. 28, 1931, and he preceded her in death in 1967.
Jayne worked for many years in sales, including the women’s department at Colenso’s clothing store. She continued on at Frankini’s Jewelry and Gifts until her retirement at age 70. She passed away Nov. 16, 1993.
When not working, she was a devoted library supporter whose weekly visits were cherished by the staff she knew well. She also was a dedicated volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul, an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and being with her many friends.
This endowment provides local residents with reading treasures to enjoy throughout the years.
This year’s selection of popular fiction includes two books by Cari Lynn Webb, an author with local ties. Her parents are Jim and Donna (Porta) Webb, both graduates of Iron Mountain High School. Selections are:
— “The Rancher’s Secret Crush” by Cari Lynn Webb;
— “A Cowgirl’s Christmas Reunion” by Cari Lynn Webb;
