Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshops offered in Florence

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Florence County is sponsoring the Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshop to all surrounding areas in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Workshop sessions are scheduled every Wednesday for six weeks from May 21 through June 25. Classes will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Florence Utilities Building, 501 Spring Ave. in Florence, Wis.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational workshop series designed specifically for the caregiver. Attendees will benefit from this class whether helping a parent, partner, spouse, adult child, child with a disability, neighbor, or friend.

They will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources, all while connecting with other caregivers. Participants will receive a book, “The Caregiver Helpbook.” Refreshments will be provided.
