Auditions planned July 7 for Missoula Children’s Theatre production at the Braumart

IRON MOUNTAIN — Audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Hansel And Gretel” will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 7, at the Braumart in Iron Mountain.

Those auditioning should arrive at 9 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two-plus hours. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately after the auditions.

Among the roles to be cast are the intrepid adventurers Hansel and Gretel, their granny, the Wildwood Witch and her loyal cooks, modern-day campers somehow lost in time in the wood, lots of Rascals, denizens of the deep and a flock of cuddly Wallybirds.

Students, going into first through 12th grades are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.

Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

Those trying out are reminded there is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, and props.

The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. each day throughout the week.

“Hansel and Gretel” will be presented at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Braumart.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Iron Mountain is presented locally by Friends of the Braumart.

This year, all workshop registration fees are generously sponsored by the Dickinson Area Community Foundation.
