Wausaukee Public Library invites families to ‘Color Our World’ this summer

WAUSAUKEE, WI — The Wausaukee Public Library is bringing hands-on fun, creative expression, and nature-filled exploration to the community this summer with a vibrant lineup of family-friendly programs.

Running every Monday at 1 p.m. through Aug. 4, the “Color Our World” Summer Library Program is open to kids of all ages–from toddlers to great-grandparents.

Each week features a new adventure, combining creativity, learning, and a splash of color:

— Monday: Paint. Plant. Name it. Boom! — Kids will paint flowerpots, plant something green, and give their leafy new friend a name.

— June 16: Crunch! Munch! Rainbow Lunch! — Young chefs will build colorful wraps and fruit skewers, exploring a rainbow of healthy flavors.

— June 23: The Wild World of Drones — Held at Evergreen Park, this special session features a live drone demonstration from a Wisconsin DNR Conservation Warden.

— June 30: Coloring the World (Anytime) — From kente cloth to mandalas, participants will color beautiful designs from global cultures.

— July 7: Coffee Filter Dye Art — Using markers and water, children will create tie-dye inspired masterpieces on coffee filters.

— July 14: Bingo Bugs: Insect Detectives — Budding entomologists will explore the outdoors on a bug-themed scavenger hunt.

— July 21: Rock Painting — With brushes and imagination, kids can paint rocks to keep or hide around town for others to discover.

— July 28: Randy’s Musical Rainbow — Starting with lunch at 1 p.m., this musical show brings songs, stories, and dancing to the library.

— Aug. 4: Skins & Skulls: The Wild Side of Wisconsin — A hands-on presentation where children can touch real animal furs and skulls while learning about local wildlife, then create a skull for their own imaginary animal.

“Our goal is to spark curiosity and creativity,” said Rebecca Livick, Wausaukee’s branch librarian. “Each Monday brings a new chance to learn, explore, and just have fun together as a community.”

Programs are free and open to the public. No library card is needed, and you don’t have to be a local resident to attend–vacationers and visitors are warmly welcome. Most sessions take place at the library, with a few exciting adventures outdoors.
