Beginner pickleball classes offered
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Health Department will offer introduction to pickleball classes in July.
Sessions will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays starting this week through July 29 at the courts near the Florence County High School track, weather permitting. Individuals age 15 or older are invited.
Pickleball provides physically activity similar to tennis, badminton and table tennis.
Open court pickleball will also take place after class, starting at 10 a.m. for anyone interested.
The lessons are being taught by Florence County Health Department public health nurse Sidnie Graff at a 2.5 level; therefore, it is for novices or those new to pickleball.
Pickleball paddles are provided for use during the classes.
Class size is limited to a maximum of eight and is on a first-come, first-served basis. A donation of $5 per class is encouraged to support supplies for the program going forward.
