DDA awards grants to four downtown businesses
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Downtown Development Authority Board has chosen four businesses to receive 2019 Downtown Assistance Program grants.
Those businesses are Brick + Mortar, CAH Rentals, Champion Inc. and Eden Property Collection.
After completing their projects, recipients will receive $3,000, or 50% of the cost of the proposed activity, whichever is less.
The DAP grant was created to maintain and enhance the integrity of downtown Iron Mountain properties and businesses and promote further growth and development within the city’s commercial core.
The purpose of the DAP grant is to provide financial incentive and assistance to property owners within the downtown district that want to complete construction activities or seek professional services to promote and enhance their business activity.
The DDA has two grant programs for businesses in the downtown district — the Facade Improvement Grant Program and the Downtown Assistance Program. Applications for these grants will be available again in spring 2020.
More information, details and guidelines can be found on the website at www.downtownironmountain.com.
These grants are made possible through downtown fundraising events such as Brew Fest, Italian Fest and Oktoberfest, plus sponsorships and donations, and also through the Downtown Development Authority millage.
