Agriculture for Tomorrow Conference set for Feb. 20

ESCANABA ­– Michigan State University Extension will once again host the annual Agriculture for Tomorrow Conference in Escanaba.

The event will take place 9:15 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Room 952 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College in Escanaba.

A keynote address by Upper Peninsula historian Russell Magnaghi will discuss the history of U.P. agriculture and the MSU Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2024.

Afterward, four concurrent educational tracks will be offered that focus on specialty crops (vegetables), field crops and forage, homesteading and livestock topics. Attendees have the option of staying in a single track or floating among the individual sessions/topics.

The registration fee of $40 per person, which includes educational materials and lunch, is payable with by cash or check accepted at the door the day of the conference.

Agricultural companies and organizations are invited to sponsor the conference and/or exhibit at the event trade show. Sponsorships of $50 or more are eligible for one complimentary trade show booth and conference registration. Non-profit organizations are eligible for a free trade show booth.
