Valiquette named award winner at Bay College for the quarter

ESCANABA – Ann Valiquette was named Bay College’s quarterly March – May TORCH Award winner. She is recognized for her work at Bay College.

“Ann is the director of the business office at Bay College. One example of her outstanding performance was that Ann investigated and sorted through the full-time faculty professional development accounts. She filtered through countless of entries, pulled out original receipts, and at times, spoke directly with the faculty member to obtain more information to make sure there were accurate entries for each full-time faculty’s professional development accounts,” according to the nomination.

“She was very conscientious in that she wanted to be sure each faculty member had the professional development funds there were entitled to. Now that the records have been brought up-to-date, Ann ensures that the accounts are properly maintained, and has developed a report that can easily and quickly show a full-time faculty’s professional development fund at any time throughout the year. This is just one example of where Ann exemplifies what the TORCH award stands for.”

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the College because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment.

TORCH stands for: Team Player; Outstanding Performance; Responsive to Others; Conscientious to Mission of Bay; Helpful to All. For one of these areas, or for one specific event or circumstance, please summarize how your nominee has shown the identified characteristic(s) while performing their job and, if applicable, how did their actions/attitude impact your job area.

This award is given to one employee on a quarterly basis. Nominations will be accepted from employees, students and the community.

Nomination forms for the TORCH award can be found on Bay College’s website by visiting the following link: www.baycollege.edu/awards.
