The ADvertiser in December won the 2018 Downtown Window Decorating Contest, the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority announced. The winner will receive a $250 mini grant, as well as an advertising package. The DDA brought back the window decorating contest this year in partnership with the annual Downtown Christmas Walk event after receiving a placemaking grant with a goal of winter beautification. Fifteen businesses in the downtown district participated in the contest, with almost 200 community members voting. “I can’t wait to see what happens next year, as this contest continues to grow,” said Amber Pipp, DDA event coordinator.
