We Energies notes safety milestone
IRON MOUNTAIN – The last time the We Energies meter service team based out of Iron Mountain experienced a lost-time injury, Lyndon B. Johnson was president. The year was 1965.
“Fifty-five years without a lost-time injury in any sector of the utility business is a notable accomplishment, and based on all information we have, we believe this is the best safety record in the industry,” said Amy Jahns, We Energies communications specialist.
Employees often have to drive long distances and walk through snow and ice to reach customers and equipment. Despite these added risks, the employees have managed to avoid any type of work-related injury that resulted in lost time.
