MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Construction Council will have a hiring event from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Bear East Arena, 275 Marquette St. in St. Ignace.

The event is open to individuals 18 or older who have a valid driver’s license and high school diploma or GED.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a resume or portfolio and will have the opportunity to meet with multiple building trades contractors and their respective unions.

“This is a one-stop opportunity for anyone ready to launch a career in the skilled trades,” UPCC Executive Director Mike Smith said. “With major projects happening across the U.P., our contractors and union partners are actively hiring. This event connects job seekers directly with the people who build our communities–and who are ready to invest in the next generation of trades professionals.”
