IRON MOUNTAIN — Happel Drain Cleaning has joined the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce, which welcomed the business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the chamber office.

Founded in February 2020 by Jeff Happel, Happel Drain Cleaning is a full-service company serving customers within a 100-mile radius of Gaastra in Iron County. Happel began his career working for his family in the La Crosse, Wis., area before making the move to the U.P. with his young family, pursuing his dream of running his own business.

“I wanted to do my own thing,” Happel said. “After getting started, I was able to bring my brother, Cole, up to help about a year and a half later. That allowed us to take on bigger jobs and be more efficient.”

Happel Drain Cleaning provides residential and commercial services that include hydro jetting, augering and camera inspections. They work on main lines, tubs, sinks, floor drains, septic lines and more. The company is also equipped to locate septic tanks, identify line breaks and assist in diagnosing and repairing issues.

Happel Drain Cleaning offers 24-hour emergency service, and while Jeff admits he tries to convince customers to wait until morning when possible, he’s been known to respond in the middle of the night when necessary.
