Firefighters investigate odor calls

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain firefighters investigated two odor complaints Wednesday.

At 4:26 p.m., they went to Shirt Tails at 408 S. Stephenson Ave. for a report of a “strange” odor. Firefighters checked the building with a detector but didn’t find any problems. They returned to the station at 4:45 p.m.

At 8:04 p.m., they went to Hardee’s at 315 N. Stephenson Ave. for a report of a natural gas odor. Employees evacuated the building, and firefighters used a detector to check for gas. Although the detector indicated no natural gas, the smell of gas was present, firefighters said. The gas company arrived to check for problems, and firefighters returned to the station at 9:50 p.m.
