IMFD called on two runs Wednesday
IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain firefighters were called at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday to South Jackson Street near the railroad tracks after a dump truck caught a low-hanging wire and snapped two utility poles.
Firefighters determined the lines were a combination of power lines and old telephone lines, so they directed traffic around the area and contacted We Energies for repairs. They returned to the station at 10:18 a.m.
At 5:13 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters went to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 900 block of River Avenue. They checked the building, which included a business and apartments, but didn’t find any problems so they returned to the station at 5:31 p.m.
