MARSP awards three mini-grants

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County chapter of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel recently awarded three mini-grants of $125 each to local educators for the purchase of classroom materials.

Recipients were Jaclynn Kreider, Kingsford High School, Breitung Township Schools; Sadie Wales, Willis Center, Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District; Aimee Tatangelo, Woodland Elementary School, Breitung Township Schools.

Kreider, grades 9-12 biology and anatomy and physiology teacher at Kingsford High School, will use the mini-grant to purchase a classroom set of dissection tools.

Wales, occupational therapist at the Willis Center, will use the mini-grant to purchase tools for the Head Start classrooms, ages 3 to 5, including scissors, stringing beads, lacing boards, whiteboards, markers, crayons, Mr. Potato Head parts, Play Doh materials, and storage containers.

Tatangelo, technology teacher at Woodland Elementary School, will use the mini-grant to purchase 3D printing tools, including 3d printer filaments, 3D printer disappearing purple glue sticks, 3D printer build platform tape, digital calipers, tape measures, and spatula tools.

MARSP, which is an organization comprised of retired school personnel, is proud to provide these grants to area teachers to help them purchase materials which, due to budgetary restraints, might not otherwise be available to their students.
