Not guilty plea in IC meth case
CRYSTAL FALLS — A Crystal Falls man has pleaded not guilty to methamphetamine charges in Iron County Trial Court.
Jesse Ray Hamilton, 37, will return to court Oct. 29 for a pre-trial conference on delivery or manufacture of meth, a 20-year felony; possession of meth, a 10-year felony; maintaining a drug house, a two-year high court misdemeanor; and a habitual offender-fourth status, which increases the maximum penalty to life on the felonies and 15 years on the high court misdemeanor.
Hamilton is free on bond.
Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team detectives on Aug. 8 seized more than 40 grams of crystal meth and evidence of drug distribution from Hamilton’s Oswald Street home, according to an UPSET news release. The crystal meth had an estimated street value of $10,000, the release states.
