Nancy Morin Memorial Scholarship established at Niagara High School

Nancy Morin
NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Area Scholarship Foundation, in cooperation with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, has established the Nancy Morin Memorial Scholarship that will be awarded for the first time this spring to graduating members of the Niagara High School Class of 2019.
Two recipients will each receive a $250 scholarship that will be announced along with other scholarships during Niagara High School commencement exercises Friday, May 24.
The new scholarship is made possible through the generosity of family and friends and honors the memory of Nancy Morin, who died in June after a courageous battle with cancer.
Morin was a lifelong Niagara resident. Daughter of William and Marilyn Aderman Sr., she graduated from Niagara High School in 1990.
She went on to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, where she earned her associate degree in surgical technology and later in life she also earned an associate degree in human resources management.
A personable and caring person with a ready smile for everyone, Morin was employed by Dickinson County Healthcare System for 27 years.
The scholarship will be open to all graduating Niagara High School seniors who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 2.0 and will be entering a degree-granting program in the health care or medical field — including but not limited to chiropractic, dental hygienist, licensed practical nurse, phlebotomy, etc. — at a one-, two- or four-year post-secondary school.
Financial need of the applicant will also be taken into consideration. The selection committee will be made up of the school principal, school counselor, and one teacher.
Applications must be submitted annually by April 15. The scholarship will be administered by the Niagara School District, with the award being provided through the Dickinson Area Community Foundation.
