Norway students collect donations for food pantry

NORWAY — The Norway High School Key Club Can Drive 2018 has come to an end with a record year of donations, collecting more than 5,000 items.

All items collected were donated to the local Food Pantry in Norway.

There were competitions in the elementary, middle school, and high school to see which class could collect the most food items. In the elementary school with a total of 873 cans, the fourth grade won an ice cream party donated by Jilbert Dairy.

In the middle school with a class total of 294, the seventh grade won a pizza party donated by Pizza Hut of Iron Mountain.

The high school exceed their goal of 1,500 cans, and collected 2,234 food items and will be rewarded with an extended lunch period.
