Erickson Jewelers helps SA food pantry

FROM LEFT, SALVATION ARMY Director Tara Blagec accepts a check for $1,000 from Erickson Jewelry owners Sherri and Randy Erickson.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Erickson Jewelers in downtown Iron Mountain offered shell pearl earring sets for $10 during the holidays, pledging to give money from the sales to the Salvation Army of Dickinson County’s Bread of Life Assistance Center.

The store at 511 S. Stephenson Ave. sold about 75 to 80 pairs of the earrings, then contributed an additional sum to bring the amount turned over to the Salvation Army’s food pantry to an even $1,000.

“My family and I are very grateful to this community, which has supported us through a busy year of moving our store to downtown,” Erickson Jewelers co-owner Sherri Erickson said when starting the sale. “This is just a small way for us to be able to help local families.”
