Work to start on US 2 bridge in Iron County

IRON RIVER – Work will begin Tuesday on the U.S. 2 bridge over the south branch of the Iron River west of the city of Iron River, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.

MDOT is investing $274,000 in the project, which includes railing and guardrail repairs and construction of new concrete slab approaches to the bridge.

One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. The estimated completion date is Aug. 30.
