Norway man accused of knife threat enters pleas of not guilty

ANTHONY MANNINO

IRON MOUNTAIN — A Norway man accused of threatening two people with a knife is awaiting a pre-trial conference in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Anthony Mannino, 36, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison; and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony.

But as a four-time habitual offender, Mannino could serve up to life in prison if convicted.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in a court appearance last week.

According to the criminal complaint, Mannino nearly struck two people with his vehicle as they exited Super One Foods in Iron Mountain on April 26. After the two commented on Mannino’s driving, he reportedly confronted them with a four inch fixed-blade knife.

A pre-trial conference is set for Sept. 23.

Bond is continued in the amount of $5,000 cash, surety or 10 percent.
