NRC meeting Sept. 12 in Marquette

MARQUETTE –The Michigan Natural Resources Commission will meet Thursday, Sept. 12, in Marquette, gathering at the Northern Michigan University Ballroom, 1401 Presque Isle Ave.

It is the only NRC meeting scheduled in the Upper Peninsula this year.

An update on white-nose syndrome in bats, a presentation about the state’s parks and trails systems, and recognition for the efforts of former commissioner J.R. Richardson, Michigan United Conservation Clubs Upper Peninsula staff and former Michigan State Parks Advisory Committee member Jim Hendricks are some of the agenda items.

The NRC’s Policy Committee on Wildlife and Fisheries will meet at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, followed by the NRC’s Committee of the Whole meeting at 12:30 p.m. and then the commission’s regular meeting.
