Bay College West invites area students to ‘Bay is the Way Day’

IRON MOUNTAIN — Bay College and Delta County College Access Network are collaborating together for the 5th annual “Bay is the Way Day” from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m on Friday, Nov. 1.

Students looking to attend Bay West will begin their day in Iron Mountain and will be transported to Escanaba for a tour of the main campus. Around 50 percent of the area, college-bound seniors choose a community college and this event will prepare students for what to expect on their educational journey.

“This is an opportunity for high school students to ask questions and advocate for their future while learning about the transition from their high school to college,” says Amber Lundberg, director of Student Services at Bay College West.

Students will hear from current Bay College students, Admissions, Financial Aid, Athletics, transfer department, tour the college, be served lunch, and meet with faculty from each student’s individual area of academic interest.

“We are thrilled to have our incoming high school seniors on campus to start those meaningful conversations about their future at the college level,” said Jessica LaMarch, director of Admissions at Bay College. “This is a chance for students to start engaging with Bay College faculty and understanding the pathway to their career choice.”

Students who have not yet registered to attend this event are welcome to contact their guidance counselor or Jessica LaMarch Jessica.LaMarch@baycollege.edu or 906-217-4086 to reserve their spot.
