Early morning fire in Loretto

An unoccupied house at W-3922 Johnson Road in Loretto was leveled by fire early today, Norway Fire Chief Dave Bal said. Firefighters found the structure “totally involved” when they arrived at 5:48 a.m. and they remained on site four hours later to put out hot spots. According to Waucedah Township officials, no one had lived at the house for a couple of years and it was “subject to be torn down,” Bal said. He speculated the fire was caused by a roof collapse that ignited an electrical feed, as the house still had power. We Energies, DTE and Dickinson County sheriff’s deputies assisted.
