Florence, Wis. — The Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards’ 2020 Health Officer of the Year award has been presented to Annette Seibold from the Florence County Health Department.

Seibold was nominated by the Board of Health, Health Department staff, and the WALHDAB Northern Region. The award will be presented virtually through WALHDAB email and communications, as well as at a future event when that becomes possible.

Seibold earned her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her master of science degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She became the health officer for the Florence agency in November 2010.

In presenting the award, the association said Seibold has led and encouraged staff by demonstrating exemplary leadership qualities by modeling the way; inspiring a shared vision; challenging the process, enabling others to act and encouraging the heart. She is passionate about public health and the opportunities for positive health outcomes that it affords community members locally and throughout the state.

Seibold is a leader who excels in the ability to challenge the status quo. She is willing to step outside of the box and be innovative and/to bring new services, products, and programs to her community.

“I am honored to receive this award to represent Florence County on a statewide platform. The work we accomplish is through our excellent community partners and board collaboration. I feel fortunate to be part of a unique community with individuals that believe and contribute to a healthy environment for everyone,” Seibold said.
