IRON MOUNTAIN — A Kingsford man accused of selling methamphetamine pleaded not guilty May 17 in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Brian Richtig, 39, is charged in five separate files with a total of five counts of the delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison; and four counts of maintaining a drug house, a high court misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.

Richtig is charged in each file as a four-time habitual offender and could serve up to life in prison if convicted.

Richtig waived arraignment and was not required to appear in court in person. The not guilty pleas were entered on Richtig’s behalf by Dickinson County Circuit Judge Mary Barglind.

According to the criminal complaints, Richtig sold methamphetamine to confidential informants during a number of controlled transactions at his residence in a two-month span.

Pre-trial conferences are set for June 21.
