‘Break the Silence’ event today in IM

IRON MOUNTAIN — Caring House today will honor local law enforcement for going above and beyond the call of duty and for keeping the community safe, said Cheryl O’Neil, Caring House executive director.

“Join law enforcement, prosecutors, judges and the community as we honor those who have died due to domestic violence and celebrate those who have survived,” O’Neil said. “We will be acknowledging four law enforcement officers for their heroic efforts during the past year.”

The “Break the Silence” on domestic violence event will begin at 11:45 a.m. today at the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, 300 E. D St. in Iron Mountain.

Law enforcement will lead a procession from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office to the First Presbyterian Church on Hamilton Avenue in Kingsford.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
