US-41 Marquette County resurfacing project starts

MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $3 million to resurface 3 miles of U.S. 41 from Big Creek Road to the M-28 intersection in Marquette County.

The project includes milling and multiple-course asphalt resurfacing, joint repairs, intersection improvements, carpool parking lot resurfacing, guardrail replacement, signal upgrades, and pavement markings.

The project started on Monday and is expected to end on Sept. 2.

Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures using traffic regulators throughout the project. This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
